Wake Up To The New York Times Headlines With The Latest Chumby Enhancements

Now chumby users can set The New York Times’s ‘Front Page’ podcasts as alarm tones, see images from around the world and read coverage of breaking news

San Diego, CA--4/15/2008

Wake up with reporter James Barron reading you the front page of The New York Times! Chumby Industries is breaking new ground with its latest enhancements to the chumby™, a consumer Internet device that enables people to receive a constant personalized broadcast of their favorite parts of the Web. Now on the Chumby Network™, users can access a large selection of The New York Times’s podcasts and photos as well as customized widgets for the newspaper’s coverage of business, sports, culture, fashion, world news, technology, politics and other top stories.

“Important news is breaking all the time, and now chumby users can get the latest news right away, either by setting their alarm tone to have the front page podcast read to them when they wake up in the morning, seeing images from around the world or reading articles at a glance,” said Stephen Tomlin, CEO and founder, Chumby Industries.

Enhancements to the chumby include:
·         New York Times podcasts that offer the latest news in the world of music, books, politics, health and science, among other topics; podcasts can be set as an alarm each morning or played back throughout the day.

·         The New York Times’s news in pictures widget continuously updated with photos illustrating breaking news from around the world.

Eight additional widgets designed specifically for Times content that showcase articles in specific topic areas such as top stories, culture, business, fashion, world news, sports, technology and politics. Each topic widget will contain photos, headlines and full stories, providing users with the capability to e-mail the articles directly from their chumby device.
